Charlene Reilly
October 03, 1972 – June 09, 2021

World’s greatest mother and wife, Charlene Reilly’s life didn’t come to an end with her death. Charlene passed away on June 9th, 2021 at the age of 48 after a year and half long and courageous battle with Cancer. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honour her legacy by living life to the fullest.
Charlene was born to Doug and Gladys Fisher on October 3, 1972 in Montreal. She moved with her family to Ontario when she was 14 which is when she met her future husband Ian and they had two children, Patrick and Thomas.
Charlene attended Western and Carleton Universities studying Bio Psychology. Throughout University Charlene worked part time as a medical secretary. She was organized, meticulous, hardworking, creative, quick learner, passionate, easy to get along with, and demonstrated a number of leadership skills. Once she started at the Wellesley working for Dr. Marcon her career took off and she never looked back. She loved working with all the Doctors, Nurses, Clerical Staff, Vendors, and Hospital Administrators. Charlene was most proud of her contributions to the Endo Courses she helped logistically and her work at St Mike’s.
Charlene was a community leader who volunteered with Scouts Canada. Always ready to lend a hand behind the scenes for any activity Ian, Patrick and Thomas signed up for including score keeping for Thomas’s baseball Teams.
In every fight that involved her kids she was the first one there ready to defend them even if they were wrong. She was always there to help with homework often that meant her having to relearn the material the night before. She was an amazing cook; it was often said that if she had one mean fibre in her body, she could outcook Gordon Ramsey.
Charlene was a baseball mom that refused to drive a minivan but was more than ready to throw on the catching gear and take 75 mph pitches to the chest. Often showing off her bruised ankles as badges of courage.
She was always the greatest audience member for a house of wannabe-comedians because she would laugh at almost everything even if meant “the look” followed because the joke was offside.
Charlene loved life, the cottage, visits to Pittsburgh (to watch her Steelers) enjoyed a good time and her quiet time. Most importantly she loved doing anything if it meant hanging with her 3 men.
Charlene is survived by her husband, children, parents, Brother Douglas, nephews Jonathan and Michael, nieces Gracelyn and Melody.
Given COVID restrictions, we plan to celebrate Charlene’s life when all her family and friends can get together safely. An invitation only Mass (COVID restrictions) will be held at St Dominic’s Catholic Church on June 17, 2021 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on her behalf.
