1955 – 2021
As my time on earth is over, I am so thankful for so many blessings. Born March 23, 1955 to Shirley and Frank Tomchuk, sister to James (Angie) and nephews Jordan and Travis (Leslie). Also sister to John (Shirley) who passed away 3 years ago, and nephew Jay (Jamie) with cutest girls Laiklyn and Logan, and nieces Lisa and Bonnie.
It was in 1969 when Cathy met her soul mate Barrie. They fell in love and were married in 1974. They had numerous homes, pets and cars. They traded in their Dodge Challenger for a station wagon in 1976 when son Ryan was born. Then followed son Kyle in 1979 and a beautiful daughter Leanne in 1984.
Dance followed, cute girls clothes and numerous picture shoots. Hockey kept our family busy. Dating and weddings followed. The greatest loves are our grandchildren, Ethan and Hayden (Ryan and Dana), Lara and Lleyton and Lbert (Leanne), and Prada (Kyle and Janinne).
Many thanks to my dear friends who cooked, baked and dropped off meals and beautiful gifts. I really felt the love. You are all so special to me. Thanks to all the Nurses and homecare for the most special care. It will be a time of healing but hopefully my Love will give you strength knowing you made my life so special.
Many heartfelt thanks to family. I love you all. Add months of glorious family and friend time at the cottage.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. No formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cathy’s memory to Riverview Health Centre or The Winnipeg Humane Society.
