Obituary for Carol Ann Kettlewell
It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved mother and granny, Carol Ann Kettlewell, who passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Sunday July 4th, 2021.
It seems an impossible feat to sum up the entirety of her beautiful life and the impact she had on so many people, what she meant to us, how much we cherished her, and how deeply she was loved, in a short obituary statement.
Carol, in essence, was pure sunshine. A widow to her dear beloved husband, Bryan Kettlewell, she is survived by her children, David (Marianne), Jay, Jennifer (Jason), Susan (Alan), Chris (Sarah) and Lindy (Justin). She was an adoring grandmother to Evan, Liam, and Ryan Kettlewell, Hailey, Tyler and Sierra Bremner, Jaden and Farrah Sood, and Taryn Hari-Singh. Carol would do anything for her kids and grandkids, her friends and extended family. Her compassionate heart, generous nature, spiritual sentiments, and positive outlook on life will be dearly missed by all of us.
Born in Sherbrooke Quebec on October 3rd, 1942 to Charlotte and Chuck Stewart, Carol was a sister to David, Mike and Marilyn. She lived in many places in Canada, raised her family in Queensville ON, and lately lived in Oakville ON where she spent the last 11 years. She was a nursing student, a teacher, and the most wonderful wife, homemaker, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend that any of us could have ever asked for. Carol loved Ontario summers, long August shadows, precious moments spent with her family and friends, visiting her kids and grandkids in Victoria and San Diego, quilting, Kennisis Lake, jelly babies, honey cruller donuts, puzzling, laying sod, listening to her children play music, watching her grandchildren do the things they love, and debating the meaning of life. She was a devoted member of the Unity Church, and a devout student of A Course In Miracles, spending endless hours reading, learning and sharing the course teachings with her loved ones.
Until the very end, she continued to enlighten us with the most powerful and valuable life lessons that we will carry on with us forever. Carol was compassionate to her core and grateful beyond measure. In her last days she continued to thank everyone around her for the care they provided. She would say how blessed she felt, and how grateful she was for the love that enveloped her. She said at one point her only pain was the pain she saw on her children’s faces. She wasn’t afraid of death. She wasn’t mad at the world. Her faith was strong, and entirely beautiful.
Mom (Granny) you have touched so many lives. You are SO loved. We have peace in knowing that you are reunited with Dad (Grandpa), and we know from your very words that we are not our physical bodies…that the truth is, we are Holy children of God. We are all Spirit – connected always, together forever.
