Obituary of Carley Fay Wallace
Carley Fay Wallace (nee Cleave)
February 2, 1939 – July 22, 2021
Carley grew up in a loving family with close relationships with members of her extended family. Always a good student, Carley was valedictorian of her high school graduating class and an Honours graduate of Queen’s University. She taught at both elementary and secondary levels for the city of Kingston and Frontenac County Boards of Education.
During her summers in Kingston, she worked at Fort Henry where she met her future husband, Bill. Carley and Bill loved to travel, particularly to Britain, Europe, Barbados, Cuba, Myrtle Beach and Fort Myers Beach. In 1984, Carley travelled to Hong Kong, China and Japan. Throughout her years, she played basketball, tennis and golf, stopping only when, for a period of 15 years, she had a migraine every day. She took great pleasure in the family’s Newfoundland dogs – training them, playing with them, and walking them. For many decades, she enjoyed her Bridge Club and Reading Club.
Carley was always an avid reader, usually read a book or two a day in her retirement. Music was also important to Carley. Starting at a very young age she went on to be an accomplished pianist, singing in choirs, and conducting student choirs at both the elementary and secondary school levels.
Family brought Carley great joy. She followed the lives of her daughters, son-in-law and grandsons with intense interest and pride. Predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Kathleen (Davidson) Cleave, her brothers Dale and Wade Cleave, and her husband Bill Wallace. Survived by her sister Rhonda Price (Evan), her daughters Elizabeth Buckland (Brett) and Annleigh Wallace and beloved grandsons Jack and Sam Buckland.

Carley’s family would like to thank the team at Kidd 9 for all their compassion and care. Danielle was central to Carley’s home team and was a part of the family, as well as the team at Bayshore Healthcare.
There will be private family burial at Cataraqui Cemetery.
