Corrinne Ann Cable
January 11, 1937 – December 14, 2021
Today we are filled with moments of sadness, laughter, reflection and hope. On December 14th, 2021, Corrinne Ann Cable (nee Rosberg) our mom, step-mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, auntie, and friend was welcomed into the presence of Jesus, her Saviour, at the age of 84 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband David; sons Francis (Elizabeth), Phillip (Laura), Roger, (Michelle); daughters Ingrid Rust (Murray), Vonette Schmidt-Paborn (Quentin), “adopted” daughters Celina Sanche (Mark), Violetta De La Jara (Charles); stepsons Trent, Scott (Velvet), and Brian (Tammy) Cable; and her sisters Carla Petersen (Charlie) and Susan Emerson, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also mourn her loss. She is predeceased by her first husband, Roland Nyberg and by her sister, Harriet Dahl.
Corrinne was born on January 11, 1937 in Hallock, Minnesota to her parents, Harry and Anne Rosberg. She loved growing up on the family farm with her parents and younger three sisters. After high school, she attended Covenant Bible College in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and eventually took a position in the far-away city of Edmonton as a parish worker at the Evangelical Covenant Church. It was during her time at this church that she met a widower named Roland Nyberg and became not only his wife, but an instant mother to four children, aged 1 to 12. Four years later, a baby girl was born to Corrinne and Roland to increase the number of children to five. Sadly, Roland passed away in July, 1981. In the summer of 1987, Corrinne married David Cable, who was also widowed and had three sons. This past July 4, they celebrated 35 years of marriage together.
Corrinne was an active member of Abundant Life Church. She loved music and played the piano for Christian Women’s Club, AGLO Women’s Ministries and her church. She could often be found at her piano, praising her Jesus. In the last few months of her life, she sang for hours a day and even through the night. She loved people and could find a connection with almost everyone she met. She was characterized by helping others in any way she could. Corrinne will be greatly missed.
A service honouring Corrinne’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm, at Life Church, 4461 50 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
