Boris Horychun of Prince Albert, formerly of Honeymoon passed away March 31, 2021 surrounded by family.
Born 1932 in Honeymoon to Leo and Anastasia Horychun (Palidwar).
Devoted, loving husband to Leona of 64 years and his five children Steve, Donna, Larry, Darrell and Pat. Boris attended Padole school in Honeymoon, High school at PACI in Prince Albert and took evening classes to become an Electrician. Boris moved to Kitimat BC where jobs were plentiful. Boris and Leona lived there for a few years where they started their family and met lifelong friends. The decision was made to move back to Prince Albert to help his father on the farm and eventually take over when his parents retired, he also worked hard in the trades as an electrician. Throughout his life he worked hard but still found time to enjoy life with family and friends. In later years Boris and Leona enjoyed their winters in Kelowna until Leona had a stroke.
Returning to Prince Albert, Boris and Leona enjoyed family, friends, bowling, Kaiser, gardening at the old farm, and helping out at the church and his community. Boris was a healthy man throughout his life until Cancer took hold. Survived by his wife Leona (Casavant), Steve (Beth Malot), Donna (Blaine Mindiuk), Larry, Darrell (Pam Telfer), Pat (Randy Holinaty). Grand Children; Kirk (Carrol), Christine (Dan), Shannon (Kyle), Mitchell (Megan), and Taylor. Great Grand Children; Austin, Kalea, Riley, Max, Jake and Liam. His Sister Helen and Aunty Jessie Korpess.Predeceased by his parents Leo and Anastasia, his brother Bud, his sister Mary and her husband Ken Trapp. A Prayer Service will be held at MacKenzie Chapel, and a Funeral Service will take place at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
