Blanche was predeceased by her parents, John (Dec.12, 1965) and Gladys (March 14. 2011); Uncles, Bill Gardner (Leona), George Gardner (Mary) and aunt Mary Tavenor (Buck) and Blanche.
Blanche was born in Delbys Cove, NL in 1939. A few years later, she moved to Corner Brook, NL, in 1952 with her family. She had to work hard for numerous years in local grocery stores, with Sobey’s, loving her last place of employment, until she retired in 1999. Blanche had two children, whom she loved and cherished so very much, had so much admiration for Laurie and Roy. Brady, being her only grandchild, who she loved so dearly and was so proud of him; and of course, her furry grand-dog, Sydney, who expected her to have treats with every visit. Blanche was always a very quiet lady, with a heart of gold. She was a lady, who absolutely loved having her home filled with her siblings, extended family and her friends. The door was always opened. For many years, that was a place to be. She loved having her siblings visit, often with her cooking Sunday supper, a cup of tea, or a bowl of her delicious homemade soup. Blanche had a way to make you feel welcomed and with no judgement. She was absolutely a pillar for her ten siblings. Blanche had been an active lady during her life, within her community. From times spent on the old Humber gardens to the new stadium, she loved sitting in the stands, cheering on her beloved son, playing broomball or ball hockey; to watching the Corner Brook Royals. She certainly had a love for hockey and the Corner Brook Royals and would not dare miss a game. Blanche spent her time on A diamond, watching her son playing softball, or into jubilee field, watching baseball; To the benches of the school gyms, watching her grandson’s basketball games. She could be seen walking the streets of Corner Brook or cross country skiing in the winter and of course, her love of animals, with pockets full of treats, as she walked in country road, she would stop to the dogs she knew, to offer them a treat. Blanche was a beautiful lady, who was well known in the community, she will certainly be missed by so many people.
Love you mom/nanny B
