The death of Bessie Merlene (MacAulay) Howe wife of Robert Howe Sr. of Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB, occurred on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her residence at the age of 80. Born in New Glasgow, NS, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Rector) MacAulay and step-daughter of Malcolm MacAulay. Bessie was a homemaker and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank and was also a member of the St. Thomas CWL.
Besides her husband, Bessie is survived by: three daughters: Jeanne McCrossin (John) of Edmonton, AB; Lori Gamblin (Chris) of Carlingford, NB; Sharon Howe (Dwayne Matchett) of Sunny Corner, NB; one son: Robert Howe Jr. of Sunny Corner, NB; three sisters: May MacDonald, Helen McKinnon (Lloyd), Diane Perry (Phillip); two brothers: Herbie (Barb) and John (Darlene); four grandchildren: Shannon Fontane (Tom), Ryan Gamblin, Nikolas McCrossin and Patrick McCrossin; step-grandchild: Bradley Matchett; great grandchildren: Siena & Liam Fontane as well as several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Burial will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery. Please note: The wearing of facial mask is encouraged.
In Bessie’s memory, donations may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Cemetery or to a memorial of one’s choice.
