Benedetta passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus, at 74 years of age. Caring and attentive wife of Giacinto Aversa. Adoring mother to Domenico (Nirvana) Aversa and Anna Maria (John) Lopez. Doting nonna to Lauren, Bianca, and Giada Lopez. Beloved sister of the late Mario (Angelina), Lorenza (the late Enzo), Antonietta (Mario), Luigi (Margherite), and Josephine (Colombo “Tony”). Cherished sister-in-law to Armando (Giacinta), Maria (Antonio), Domenico (Concetta), and the late Carlo (Vittoria). Benedetta was a devoted daughter to the late Giovanna and Guido Tiberia and daughter-in-law to the late Angelo and Teresa “Mena” (Domenico) Aversa. She will be dearly missed by an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends around the world. Benedetta is described by many as an altruistic, sympathetic and loving person. She spent much of her life volunteering and donating to deserving causes. She was a dedicated member and former president of the Catholic Women’s League of St. Angela Merici Church, and also an avid benefactor of Canadian Feed the Children. Benedetta would appreciate if those interested would make a donation to W.E. Care for Kids in her honour.
Her family would like to thank the countless nurses and doctors from across North America who assisted in her healing journey, as well as the local PSWs who cared for her on a daily basis. A special thanks to Dr. Ian Sproat of Green Bay, WI for his extraordinary work over the years.
