Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Harold Vincent at his home on May 26, 2021 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on January 27, 1953, to Cora (Adamson) and the late Harold Vincent and was the loving husband of almost 46 years to Ruth (Buchanan) Vincent.
Barry possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and after working as an accountant with JDI for many years, he ventured out on his own and opened Tower Hill Financial, and then Applied Pressure Inc. where he retired from. Barry was very involved in his church. He was a Cub Scout Leader, he was on the Board of Management, he was treasurer on the Finance Committee and it was through his church that he met the love of his life. He began his faith journey in Main Street Baptist Church, eventually going to RiverCross. Barry and Ruth started their marriage together as Youth Group Leaders at Main Street Baptist. Barry also volunteered with the North End Development Corp for many years. He had a heart of gold and would do anything to help someone in need. He was a kind and gentle man who was great with kids, especially his own. He was meant to be a father and grandfather – imparting all of his knowledge and skills into the children meant the world to him. He loved to travel and was just a very genuine man. Barry was very courageous with his illness and still went to see the boys play hockey as often as he could, despite it. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to meet him.
In addition to his wife and mother, Barry is survived by his son, Tim (April); two special grandsons, Cameron and Rhys; brothers, Peter and Rodney; sister, Janice; along with several nieces and nephews and cousins. Along with his father, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Kathy and his brother-in-law, Norman.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Barry’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will take place. A private family graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barry’s memory to RiverCross Church, Parkinsons Canada, SPCA – Animal Rescue League or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
