Obituary for
Antonio Sacco
With great sadness in our hearts we acknowledge the passing of our dear Father, Nonno, and Zio, Antonio Sacco on March 24, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Antonio leaves behind his loving wife of almost 55 years, Maria Rosa Sacco; daughters, Maria Antonia Peters and Franca (Brent) Munn; son, Giuseppe (Joe) Sacco along with his wife, Patrizia Trapasso and family; as well as the joy of his life – his grandchildren, Simone Peters, Alexander Peters and Tony Sacco.
Antonio was born November 5, 1932 in Gimigliano, Catanzaro, Italy to Giuseppe and Mariantonia. He was the sixth of eight children and is survived by one sister.
Antonio first came to Canada in 1954 and worked in a goldmine in Yellowknife for a few years before moving back to Italy in 1961. He met Maria Rosa and they got married in 1966. Together with his wife and their three children they immigrated to Canada in 1982 living in Edmonton most of the time until his passing on March 24, 2021.
Antonio loved telling stories, it was a way he remembered the past and kept us connected to it.
Dad, we say arrivederci for now, one day we will see you again and you can tell us all new stories.
