Our beloved Anne Marie passed away peacefully on March 8, 2021, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 75, with her daughter and best friend, Cheryl at her side.
Although no longer with us physically, Anne will be in our memories forever for the many great times and laughter we shared.
Anne was a kind person who had a “heart of gold” and was always ready to help others. She had a particular fondness for our feline friends and volunteered for several years at the Feral and Abandoned Cat Society. She adopted a number of stray cats over the years and gave them a warm and loving home, with lots to eat.
Anne is survived by the love of her life, her daughter, Cheryl (Rick) Morris; sisters-in-law, Edie (the late Merle) Moffatt Crowe and Elaine (Jim) Featherby; sister, Frances (Pat) Muldoon, as well, many loved family members and friends – with special mention to Beverly Breski and Linda Fraser for their kindness and help; her Inverness buddies, Pauline and Joey Doucet; and her many friends at Lingan Golf and Country Club. She will also be missed by her neighborhood pets who will no longer receive their treats as they pass by her house.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Rollie; mother, Veronica Baldwin; her guardian aunts, Edith and Charlotte Cormier; uncle, Pat Cormier; and brother, Norman Cameron.
Anne worked in the collection industry for a number of years, and she was always appreciative of her clients who supported her in her business role.
A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Welton Street on Saturday, March 20 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dennis Lamey officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. The memorial service can be viewed on Facebook Live by going to the Sydney Memorial Chapel Facebook page.
