July 10, 1933 – May 31, 2021
It is with fond memories that we say goodbye to a mother, a baba and a lifetime friend. Ann Zaytsoff has peacefully left this world on her final travel adventure.
Ann will be remembered as a spiritual woman with endless energy and an inspiring inner strength. She was a proud perfectionist that did not believe in giving anything less than your best. This showed in everything she did, from her pristine home to her culinary skills to her amazing garden that brought great joy to anyone who experienced it. Ann also had a mischievous sense of humour, often brought out while playing cards and camping with family and friends at Christina Lake. She had the opportunity to travel many places, including Russia, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Jamaica and Tahiti, and we wish her Godspeed on this heavenly journey.
Ann moved to Castlegar from Slocan Park with her husband, Peter Zaytsoff in 1968. Together, they founded Pete’s TV, a successful family business that served as a Castlegar landmark until 2004. For over 10 years, Ann also contributed her time and energy to the Castlegar community as a Home Support Worker. She was an active lifelong member of the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ (USCC), volunteering and participating whenever called upon. Ann was very devoted to her family, taking great pride in her 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Our traditional Christmas Eve gatherings will be missed by all, but never forgotten.
Ann is survived by her three children Sherley (Bill) Gorkoff, Peter (Stefanie) Zaytsoff and Ron (Nadine) Zaytsoff.
A graveside prayer service was held at the Brilliant Cemetery on June 9, 2021. The family would like to thank Dr. Smart, the staff at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, the staff and management at Castle Wood Village, Bill Strilaeff and the Castlegar Funeral Home, and all friends and family that supported us through this difficult time.
Donations in Ann’s memory can be made to the USCC “ISKRA”.
