Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Allan Kirk Marciski announce his sudden passing on October 30, 2021.
Allan was born March 21, 1956, to Anne (Andruski) and Walter Marciski in Rotorua New Zealand. He, his parents and siblings moved back to Canada in 1967. Al moved to Hinton Alberta in 1979 where he pursued a career in the open pit coal mine, fell in love with the mountains and where he chose to start his family.
Allan loved his family more than anything. He was so very proud of his girls and his grandgirls. Allan loved to cycle, both mountain biking and road racing. Living in the Rocky Mountains gave Al tons of places to explore and challenge. He was extremely proud of his accomplishments as an equipment operator at Cardinal River Coals. Al also enjoyed archery. Robin Hooding 2 arrows was his first challenge with his compound bow but taking the centre out of a toonie was his mastered bragging right! Another favourite past time of Al’s was fishing and he explored this whole area for the best spots. Monday and Friday evenings found him sitting in front of the TV watching his WWE wrestling.
Allan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Norma Jean, his daughters Paula (Jimmy), Alaina (Jesse), his grand-daughters Serivia (Matt), Olivia and their dad Steven. Also, his brother Barry (Doris), sisters Deb Kubrak (Alex) and Beverly Aron, all in Kelowna plus his nieces and nephews and their families.
Allan was predeceased by his mom Anne Campbell, his dad Walter Marciski, his step dad Jack Campbell, his mom & dad – in – law Doreen and Jack Hunter and his brother in law John Aron.
Allan’s (Ski) Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at Hinton Alliance Church. A live stream link will be available for those unable to attend in person. A interment will be held in Strathclair, Manitoba at the family plot at a later date.
Al’s heart was for the troubled and less fortunate so in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Freddie’s Place, Hinton Food Bank or Hinton’s Women’s Shelter, in his honour.
