Cowell, Alice
It is with sadness that the family of Alice Cowell announce her peaceful passing on February 8, 2021 at Sherbrooke Community Centre, Saskatoon. She was surrounded by those she loved and who loved her. Alice Lynn Cowell (nee Kuc) was born at Watson Hospital on July 7, 1926 the fifth child of Phillip and Sanny Kuc. Mom was a whiz in any kitchen. Cooking, baking, canning and preparing a steady stream of delicious and nutritious meals for her six children and foster girl. She was a multi-talented seamstress and a master gardener. Mom’s passion in life however, was her love of people. Wherever she went she quickly had people calling her their « other » grandma, auntie or Mom. The love in her heart was boundless and she easily accepted them as such. She will be missed by many and forgotten by few. Her family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Sherbrooke Community Centre, especially those in Paradise Cove, and Dr. N. Khayyam for the tender and compassionate care of our Mom. Donations in her name may be made to the Sherbrooke Foundation www.sherbrookefoundation.ca/ . A Private Celebration of Alice’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 with live-streaming available at: www.faithproductions.ca/livestream .
