Agnes Deborah Randles
September 22, 1922 – June 01, 2021
Agnes Randles passed away peacefully on June 1, 2021, lovingly surrounded by her family. Aggie was 98 years young. Never dressing her age, always bright and positive with a ready smile, Aggie was an inspiration to her many friends and loved ones. She was a believer in taking long walks, enjoying nature, healthy eating and exercise, so Aggie enjoyed a unique vitality that drew people to her no matter what her age. She enjoyed her independence well into her nineties, remaining an avid bridge player and enjoying a vibrant social circle among her friends at The Ennisclare on the Lake in Bronte, Oakville. Aggie had a sense of community, giving generously to charities that offered people a “hand up” in life. She wanted to see others succeed, especially her four grandchildren whom she inspired to always follow their dreams while keeping their feet on the ground.
Aggie will be dearly missed on so many occasions by her family, who never planned an event without her. We celebrated together, often travelled together, each of us sharing a special relationship with her that will remain always in our hearts and minds. “Aunt Agnes” was very fond of her extended family of nieces and nephews, and whether they live in Ontario, Newfoundland, or other parts of Canada and the U.S., they will remember the meaningful times they shared with her. Aggie was full of life until the end, and then…
God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine.”
Agnes was predeceased by her husband Allan C. Randles, whose civic responsibility and engineering expertise contributed to the development of Streetsville and Mississauga, Ontario. Together they travelled extensively over the years, visiting countries on six of the seven continents of the world. Aggie’s son Glen, along with his wife Paula and Aggie’s four grandchildren Daniel, Caitlin, Jonathan and Victoria will keep her memory alive for her five greatgrandchildren Max, Juliette, Elliott, Ryland and Reyna.
If you would like to donate to a charity in memory of Agnes Randles, here are three charities that were close to her heart.
