It is with great sadness that the family of Agnes Hartery (nee Power) of Portugal Cove South announce
the passing of their mother at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on August 24, 2021 at the age of 92.
Predeceased by husband Louis (2011), son Brian (2018), infant son Gerard, parents Arthur & Mary
Power, her siblings Catherine (Vincent), Anne (Ed), Loretta (Mike) and Harold (Evelyn).
Leaving to mourn and grateful for her remarkable life are children Loyola, Brendan, Terry (Liz),
Rosemary (Karl Reddick), Kevin (Elaine), Paul, Marina, Jeananne (Kevin Power) and Louis (Carla), 13
grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will be forever grateful to staff on 1 North who provided love and care and quickly became
Mom’s second family during her 5 and a half year stay. Special thanks to Suzanne Kenny for being with
us during Mom’s final hours.
Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Trepassey on Saturday, August 28 from 12-8pm. The funeral mass
will take place at 11:30 a.m on Sunday, August 29 at Holy Redeemer Church, Trepassey. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Portugal Cove South.
