Passed away safely into the Arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 27th, 2021, at Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg, surrounded by the love of her family. Adena Margaret (Hampel) Pilkey a dedicated and loving wife of 61 years of the late Glenn (April 25, 2013) and loving mother of Sheryl (Robert Stephens), Leanne (William Coyle), and Douglas (Lynne) Pilkey. Proud and loving grandmother of Rev. Craig Stephens (Beth-Anne), Lindsay Coyle (Greg Walton), Shannon Coyle and Allison Coyle. Especially proud great-grandmother of: Ellie Adena Walton, Alayna Shae Walton, and Emma Grace Walton. Survived by a brother Henry Hampel (late June) and two sisters: Lillian Barber (late Cameron) and Edith Alphonse (late John) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Marie Hampel, Beatrice Hampel, Lewis Hampel (late Dane), Fred Hampel (late Ella) and Nora Moreau (late Andrew); her late parents Ernest Henry (Albert) Hampel and Frances Mary (Burrow) Hampel. Adena will be remembered as the best mother anyone can ever have. She was first and foremost dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Truly it could easily be said family was everything to Adena. Glenn and Adena lived on the Pilkey family farm from 1954 later succeeding to own and grow the farm until 1997 on Airport Road, Tillsonburg. In addition to helping Glenn with the farm, Adena was very active throughout our community serving others and her Lord as a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Ostrander Women’s Institute and a Canadian Cancer Society volunteer. Adena was an accomplished artist excelling in needlework, flower arrangement and cake artistry; gardening and reading were her hobbies but her family was everything to her.
