Obituary for
Pierrette Gabrielle Comtois-Heino
The family announces with great sorrow her passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Beloved wife of Alan Hugh Heino and dear mother of Tiphanie (née Morin) Hartling (Ryan) of Schumacher, ON. Dear daughter of the late Léopold Comtois (1977) and the late Évangéline alias Pierrette Comtois (née Langlois) (2014). Survived by her brother Robert Comtois (Lise) of Prévost, QC, her nephew Maxime Comtois (Montreal, QC) and many cousins residing in the suburbs of Montreal, QC. Dear daughter-in-law of the late Edwin Heino and the late Aili (née Valiaho) Heino. Survived by her sister-in-law Sandra Heino (Wayne), her brothers-in-law Frank Heino and Bob Heino (Louise) and niece Laura Heino and nephew Bruce Heino, as well as cousins Sheila Valiaho (Graham) and Brenda Valiaho. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the support also given by Pauline (née Morin) Burton (Peter) throughout Pierrette’s illness. As well, special thanks and appreciation to Dr. J. Noble, Dr. P. Canoand Dr. R. Carlson of the Northeast Cancer Centre, Dr. A. Caycedo, Dr. K. Asai, Dr. Ian McGilvray (UHN), and the nurses at the University Health Network, the Timmins District Hospital Oncology& HospiceDept. and the Northeast Cancer Centre, the Tele-Medicine Units in Timmins, and the health care providers through Home and Community Care at the NE LHIN, as well as all of the other devoted health care practitioners involved in Pierrette’s care within Timmins, Sudbury, Toronto. Heart-felt gratitude to: Jules, Spiritual Healer from Misiway Milopemahtesewin Community Health Centre in Timmins, ”InspireHealth.ca” from British-Columbia for their compassionate support, The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC), as well as the Healing and Cancer Foundation from Nova Scotia. Throughout her battle with cancer, she enjoyed exercising and socializing at many fitness classes (Forever Fit, Pilates, Yoga, Yogalates and Taoist Tai Chi), meditating with her singing bowl, as well as reading, cross-stitching and knitting socks. She will be remembered for her positivity, her curiosity and courage in knowing how to face her challenges throughout staying engaged in living life. Due to the current pandemic, there will be a private family service. A graveside cremation burial will take place at a later date at the Valley East Cemetery in Hanmer. Remembrance donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
