Obituary
It is with sadness but gratitude for a long life that the family of Virginia Joan Pauline Brown announce her passing which occurred at the Sus Health Centre on Monday, October 12, 2020 in her 90th year. Born on August 22, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Pauline Melvin.
Virginia is survived by her children, Susan Brown, David (Nadine) and Carolyn Manning (Robin); grandsons Christopher (Jennifer), Aaron White, Andrew Brown (Sharon) and Corrie Brown and cherished granddaughter Sara Colwell (Ryan); much loved great granddaughters Madison and Emma Colwell and soon to be great grandson Baby Boy Colwell. She also leaves behind her favourite niece Shari Kirkpatrick (Ron) and special friends Jane, Judy, Joan and Elaine.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Bill of over 50 years, six sisters, one brother and her Aunt Grace who she went to live with at a young age after her mother passed away.
Mom enjoyed keeping her house sparkling clean and making meals and baking for her family. She and Dad enjoyed their Florida and Cruise vacations. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Having lived 60 years with Type 1 Diabetes was quite an accomplishment.
Many thanks to the paramedics, ER Doctors and Nurses, the Floor Nurses and Dr. Sunita MacMullin. Thank you also to her home care worker Debbie Chown. Your kindness was so appreciated.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home (646-2424). A private family graveside service will take place. Donations can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
