Vila passed away on December 12, 2020 at Olds Hospital Long Term Care. She was born in Bowden on January 26, 1929 to Arthur and Mary Boyd. She spent her early years on a farm in the Nisbet district before moving to a farm in the Hainstock district in her mid teens. Vila lived there on and off until she married Ivan Sturrock in 1956 and moved to Olds where she resided until her passing. Vila was predeceased by her husband, Ivan in 2001 and by all 13 of her brothers and sisters. Vila is survived by her son Andrew (Colleen); daughter Leslie; grandchildren Tayla and Ryland; sisters-in-law Maureen Boyd and Joyce Boyd; brother-in-law Wray Dayson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Following Vila’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Olds Hospital Long Term Care.
