Veronica Dorothy Molloy Landucci
With sadness, Vera’s family would like to announce she passed away peacefully at the age of 99.
Veronica was born in Alert Bay, BC and passed away on August 5, 2020 at Trail BC.
She grew up in Port Alberni and attended school in Vancouver. After High School she attended Seattle University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then took her nurses training at St. Paul’s Hospital in Victoria. She married Kevin Molloy in 1947 and they settled in Trail. In her early career she was an OR nurse working mostly vacation relief while raising a family. After Kevin’s passing in 1969 she spent time as an ER nurse at the Trail hospital. She married Perry Landucci in 1974 and they spent 24 years travelling the world while Perry did contract engineering work.
The last (but one) of her generation in three families (Maralia, Molloy and Landucci) she is survived by her children; Phil (RaNae), Theresa, Mary (George), Liz (Brian) and Kathy (Mike), 11 grandchildren; Tim, Jeff, Geoffrey, Allison, Patrick, Greg, Rob, Marty, Chris, Bronwen and Alexander and 14 great-grandchildren; Kayla, Jackson, Lilly, Declan, Mazy, Ember, Phoebe, Torin, Leighton, Cylas, Toby, Griffin, Bailey and Hugo. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Danuta Molloy and numerous nieces and nephews from all three of her families
Predeceased by husbands Kevin Molloy and Perry Landucci, infant son Michael, step-sons Donnel and Mike Landucci, parents Emil and Pasquina Maralia, siblings Evelyn, Anne, Harry and Norma and grandson Scott.
She was most proud of her career as a nurse and took great pleasure in socializing with her nursing buddies. She had a talent for decorating and flower arranging which she put to use for herself and many friends. She loved to party and entertain. Her dinner parties were legendary for their cuisine and attention to detail. She was always on the lookout for new recipes and used her family as guinea pigs to ensure they were suitable for company. Her most true passion was her faith and her Church. She spent many hours arranging flowers and setting up seasonal liturgical decorations. When she moved to Trail she started a personal ministry of friendship and support to the priests of the Nelson Diocese which continued right till she stopped living on her own. Priests were always welcome at her home and table with or without prior notice.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral to be held at a later date when pandemic restrictions allow full gatherings. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family would like to thank Drs. Hii, Ksiazek and Benzer for their care and concern over the years and the staff of Columbia View Lodge for their wonderful care over the last two years.
As an expression of sympathy, the family requests donations to St. Michael’s Catholic School 1329 Fourth Ave. Trail, V1R 1S3 or the charity of your choice.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Veronica Vera Dorothy Landucci August 5th 2020..
