It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Vera Clarke (nee Brown) passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30th, 2020 at the age of 85 years at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques, with her loving family by her side. Born in Rose Blanche-Harbour le Cou, Newfoundland, Vera was the daughter of the late Charles and Susannah Brown (nee Spencer). She was also predeceased by her husband George Clarke in 2002, father and mother-in-law; John and Abigail Clarke, brothers; Gordon Brown, Wilson Brown, George Brown, Henry Brown, nephew; Glendon Brown, brothers-in-law; Bert Clarke, Henry Clarke, Russell Clarke, Keltie Clarke, Thomas Strickland, Simeon Billard, William Hardy, Reginard Heron, sisters-in-law; Maude Billard, Jane Heron, Theresa Strickland, Mary Clarke, Louise Clarke, and Edith Clarke.
Vera leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving children Marilyn (Nath) Bernard of Harbour le Cou, NL, son; Marvin (Marie) of Fort St. John, BC, grandchildren; Priscilla (Wade) of Eastern Passage, NS, Susan (Jamie) of Fort St. John, BC, Samantha (Pat) of Calgary, AB, great-grandchildren; Tristan, Mitchell, Griffin, Chase and Lynkin. Vera also leaves behind brother-in-law; Gerald Clarke, sisters-in-in-law; Melita Hardy, Nora Brown, Mary Brown and Margaret Clarke plus many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Vera’s memory can be made to the Diabeties Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, 860 Topsail Rd, Mount Pearl, NL A1N 3W4. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2 pm from St. Michael And All Angel’s Anglican Church in Rose Blanche officiated by The Rev. Canon Jeffrey Petten. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL.
