Obituary of Troy Damien Metz
It is with profound sadness we mourn the passing of our dear son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend. On Monday, December 7, 2020, at age 36, Troy lost his long and courageous battle with addiction. While we are deeply saddened to see him go, we are relieved that his struggle has ended, and he is now at peace. Troy will be greatly missed by each, and every life he touched with his outgoing and caring personality, and one-of-a-kind laugh. He loved his family, especially his son Braxdyn, mother Debbie, sister Stacey, nephew Dylan, and nieces Arianna and Keera, they truly were his whole world, and greatest joy. Troy was a gifted storyteller and could easily captivate a room full of people with his energetic recounting of past adventures, forever smiling and laughing along as he spoke. After a warm strong embrace, he was always sure to mention how much he loved you and how proud of you he was. Troy embodied what a loyal friend should be. He truly had a heart of gold and was forever worrying more about others than he did himself, always willing to help anyone in need in any way he could. Troy was born on February 22, 1984 in Regina, SK to Deborah Metz. He is survived by his son Braxdyn Metz; mother Deborah Metz; sister Stacey Metz (Al Carignan); nephew Dylan Metz; nieces Arianna and Keera Carignan; grandpa James Wasnik; grandpa Albert Metz; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Troy was predeceased by his nana Yvonne Metz; grandma Audrey Wasnik; and grandma Jeannette Metz. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
