Terry Anderson
President of Adam’s Moving
It is with deep sadness that we announce Terry Anderson died peacefully on October 10, 2020, at the age of 76. Terry, son of the late Desmond and Pauline (nee Young) Anderson is survived by the love of his life, his wife Helene (nee Mercier), his children; Marie (Peter), Carolyne (Andrew), Julie (Gunther) and Adam (Jenifer), his 8 grandchildren: Sebastien, Elysia, Kendra, Jessika, Kiarah, Sarah, Charlie and Austin, and 1 great-grandchild Aiyla. Terry will also be sorely missed by his siblings: Gary (Diane), Gail (Mitch, deceased), David (Vannin) and Bonnie, deceased (Eugene, deceased). From humble beginnings, together with his wife Helene, Terry was a successful local business owner for more than 50 years. He was respected and admired by many clients, associates, employees and friends. He was very proud of the fact that his son, Adam is taking over their legacy. A pillar in our community, Terry made various contributions including to the Dragon Boat Prior Chest Nuts, the Granite Curling Club, local food banks and many girls and boys sports teams. Terry and Helene’s life was a love story, one lasting more that 58 years. He lived for his beautiful wife. He adored her and told her so (and anyone who would listen) every single day; several times in fact. A self-made man and a dreamer, he realized his ambitions, one of which was to be a good provider. Terry always encouraged his family to pursue happiness and their respective dreams. Despite the late onset of physical challenges, Terry embraced life to the fullest. Filled with creativity and curiosity, he worked tirelessly at his passions which included music, gardening, decorating, antique cars, record keeping and collecting, all with an astounding attention to detail. His infectious joie de vivre led to many humorous moments and engaging conversations with family, neighbours, and friends – new and old alike. Rarely seen without his Adam’s sweatshirt and jeans, Terry loved comfort and was never more content than he was at home with his wife. No service is planned however all are welcome to share their condolences and memories at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com/TerryAnderson. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local food bank and/or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank the ICU team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital Heart Institute for their compassionate care.
