Ted Axon Sunday April 5th 2020 avis de deces

Axon, Joseph Edward “Ted”
With great sadness the family of Ted (Joseph Edward) Axon announce his passing on April 5th 2020, at the age of 80 at Creek Way Village in Burlington, Ontario.
Ted taught for 33 years, starting at public schools in Burlington and spending most of his teaching career in Hamilton Secondary Schools. He received the Teacher of the Year award in 1993 from the Board of Education for the City of Hamilton.
He had a passion for skiing, serving on the Canadian Ski Patrol in the 1970s and later spending winter weekends with family and friends at Holimont Ski Club in Ellicottville NY.
Ted faced challenges due to Parkinson’s over the last ten years, but still managed to take up model railroading as a hobby.
He is survived by his wife Gail; his sons Tadd (Christine) and Jeremy; his grandchildren Deliah, Declan, Cormac and Quade; his niece Melony Holmes (Ron Reed), nephew Doug Holmes (Carol) and their children and grandchildren; as well his cousin Sandra (Neil Papineau).
Ted is predeceased by his father Joe, his mother Irene and his sister Jo.
The family wishes to express our gratitude for the compassionate care shown by the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital, Sunrise of Burlington and Creek Way Village, as well as the personal care workers from March of Dimes Canada and the Canadian Red Cross.
A service will be held at a later date; the family encourages those who knew Ted to take a few moments and celebrate his life in their own way. Those wishing to make a donation in remembrance, please consider the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation or Parkinson Canada.
