Susan Evelyn West Lattimer Bottomley
Susan Bottomley died on Feb 3 2020 in her ninety fifth year.
Beloved mother to Cathryn Kafka, grandmother to Christopher and Nicholas and great grandmother to Xavier. Wife to the late Douglas Lattimer and Robert Bottomley. Born in Siam in 1925, she was raised and educated in England. She survived the blitz and did her part in the war effort by assembling radar units. She met a dashing RCAF officer and came to Canada as a war bride to make her home in Belleville Ontario. Her secretarial career included work for a number of physicians and school boards before finally retiring as secretary to the president of Loyalist College in Belleville. Her retirement years were filled with friends and family and her dogs. The family wishes to thank the staff at Quinte 6 at the Belleville General Hospital, Bayview Retirement Home, Blessed Bridges (especially Catherine) and Moira Place in Tweed for their compassionate care. And Special thanks to Dr Kim MacLeod for her decades of care for Susan. Final arrangements are with Quinte Cremation and Burial Services. In accordance with Susan’s wishes, there will be no service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Ontario Humane Society.
