SMITH – Eleanor L., 96, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Queens Manor.
Born in Caledonia, Queens County, Eleanor was a daughter of the late Obediah and Cora (Nickerson) Rudderham.
Eleanor was an active curler in her younger years and enjoyed watching it on TV. Eleanor was best known for her sojourns to the Hub, the Country Kitchen, the “Dungeon” (when they existed) and finally the Snug and Memories Café. Restaurants always knew to have Tabasco sauce on hand or she would provide her own. She was a collector of many things and an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan . She was known as a “closet” artist by those who were fortunate to have seen her well kept secret pastel drawing of her picture of the Madonna and child.
Eleanor is survived by her son Stephen (Heather) of Liverpool; her grandchildren Stephen (Erika) Smith and Lynn (Adam) Callahan and her great grandchildren Josh, Caitlyn, Drew, Ryan, Abigail and Corey.
Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Dr. G. M. “Mike” Smith, her daughters Cathy Hurst and Donna Tebb and her brother Jack.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. At Eleanor’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
