Shirley A. Downey, ONB
1936-2020
Shirley Anne (Ryder) Downey passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 13,
2020.
Born in St. Stephen, NB, she was predeceased by her
parents, Louise (Jackson) Ryder and Harry Ryder. She is survived by
her beloved husband of 63 years, Kenneth Downey; her children, Janis
Downey and Jonathan Downey: her sister, Christine Swager (Robert),
several nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
No visitation or service will be held at this
time.
Shirley was passionate in the promotion of
literacy. Celebrate her memory by reading or gifting a book to a
child. For those who wish donations to IODE Heritage Chapter for their
work with children and youth would be welcome c/o Janet Emerson, 10
Elizabeth Street, St Stephen NB, E3L 2N7 or to the Charlotte County
Cancer Society.
