BRIGGS, “Sean” John Henry – Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home, Fonthill in his 76th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Darlene (2018). Loving father to Dan Briggs (Sherry) and Siobhan Peazel (Joe). Devoted Grandpa to Ava and Lauryn Briggs, Bridget and Elaina Peazel. Sean will be dearly missed by his siblings in England, Patrick Briggs and his late wife Patricia, Nuala Pritchard (Alan) and Anne Goring (Chris). Sean will also be missed by his brother and sister-in-law Ron and Susan Kodes of Saskatchewan and all of his nieces and nephews from England and Scotland as well. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Bridget Briggs. Born in Bradford England on September 30, 1945, Sean immigrated to Canada in 1968 where he accepted a teaching position with the Halton Catholic District School Board. Sean spent his entire teaching career with the HCDSB where he was well known as a dedicated and outstanding teacher and school Principal. After his retirement from the HCDSB, Sean continued his professional career with the D’Youville Teachers College. He was a parishioner of St. Kevin’s Catholic Church and enjoyed travelling, golfing and playing soccer. Sean loved spending quality time with his granddaughters. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Sean’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and community at Lookout Ridge for their friendship and care for Sean over the last few years. Arrangements entrusted to H.L. Cudney Funeral Home. A celebration of Sean’s life was held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church. Rite of Committal followed at Holy Cross Cemetery, Welland, Ontario.
