Obituary of Sally A. Dunn
Dunn, Sally nee Brown March 24, 1925-May 26, 2020
Our loving mother was raised to heaven to be reunited with her beloved husband Frank (2017) and son Mark (1971). She passed away peacefully at Vision Nursing Home surrounded by the profound love of her family under the compassionate care of Vision staff.
Sally was loving mother of Maureen Dunn (John Ormiston), Judy Dunn-Keighan (Jon Keighan), Marilyn Galonski (Mark Galonski), Joanne Dunn, Colleen Medeiros (Vic Medeiros). She was the cherished Grandma of Mark, Lisbeth (Kris), Randy, Kayleigh (Greg), Jamey (Leyna), Brookey (Josh), Anthony, Andrea, Beau (Amanda), Brett and Ben. Great Grandma of Maleigha, Madison, Keaton and Henrik. She was a loving aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Alice Brown, siblings Eileen, Stella, Mary, Joe, Al and Bill.
Mom was a loving and charismatic woman who lived every day to the fullest. Known for her intelligence, she was curious by nature and a life-long learner. She loved to read, enjoyed poetry and her sense of wonder led her to experience a variety of interests, hobbies and travel. Mom was an excellent cook and a welcoming hostess. Our family table frequently was a place of laughter and good food for family and friends alike.
Our Mom will be remembered by all for her fun-loving nature and quirky sense of humour. She was loving and generous, having learned from her own mother the importance of caring for those in need. She volunteered extensively to numerous organizations and causes. She had a strong sense of faith that sustained her through many of life’s trials. This provided her with enduring peace.
Family was the joy of our mother’s life. She was the epicenter of our large and extended family. Instilling important lessons of care and support for one another is but a small part of her legacy. Her loving presence will remain with us always.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all the Vision staff who provided our Mom with kind and loving care. Their compassion shown to Mom was extended to family and for that we are eternally grateful. We wish them strength and health in their important work.
