Elizabeth Jean "Libby" Macdonald – 100, Truro, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2020, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Stewiacke, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Colter) Cox.

After her marriage, she resided in Sunny Brae until 1987 and then moved to Bible Hill. In 2006, she went to live at Parkland Estates and although it wasn’t "home", Libby very much appreciated the caring, kind and attentive staff who made it "feel like home".

Libby is survived by her daughter, Carol Macdonald, Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is also survived by Harold’s nieces and nephews, with whom she was very close: Bill and Marion, Robert (deceased) and Jeanette, Mary, Ann and Ivan. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Archibald Macdonald; daughter, Isabel; brother, Charles F. Cox.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where a private funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Pastor Ken Fillmore officiating; webcasting of the funeral service will be open to all and may be viewed from this site at 10:25 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020; this link will remain active for some time after the funeral. To access the webcast, click on "Video of Funeral" link to the left of this obituary.

All are welcome to attend the interment service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Sunny Brae Cemetery, 2199 East River West Side Road, Sunny Brae, Pictou County.
