Roy Ernest Boutilier
Roy Ernest Boutilier
«Boot», 79, passed away on December 5, 2020 after a
long-fought battle with dementia.
Roy was born on July 18, 1941 to
Edna and Milton Boutilier in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. After graduating
from Dartmouth High School «Boot» sailed to Tahiti on the
Bounty and was involved in the filming of the famous movie, Mutiny on
the Bounty. He then returned to Dartmouth and educated himself in the
retail industry. He married the love of his life, Beverly Ann
(Furlotte). They had two children, Angie McKillop (Todd) and Stephen
Boutilier (Julie) before settling in Moncton NB where Roy owned a
sporting goods agency.
Roy’s priority in life
was to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they
deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else, something
he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of his children Steve
(Julie) and Angie (Todd) and his beautiful granddaughters Anna, Emily,
and Olivia. Roy supported and took a keen interest in all their
involvements.
Roy was also passionate about
his friends and colleagues. He was often the life of the party and
always showed up with a poem, story, or song for his friends. He will
be mourned by a wide circle of friends who will miss his infectious
laugh, his wonderful stories and his genuine
kindness.
Anyone who knew Roy knew that he was the most loving
father, husband, and friend a family could ask for. Roy was
predeceased by his parents Milton and Edna, his sister Elsie, brothers
Harold and baby Kenneth. He is survived by his devoted wife Beverly,
sisters Norma and Dorothy and many loving nieces and
nephews.
The family thanks McNair Manor
and all those who helped with Roy’s
care.
A Service to Celebrate and
Honour Roy’s Life will be held from St. George’s
Anglican Church on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:30 am with The
Rev. Chris VanBuskirk presiding. Interment to be held in
Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough. Covid-19 Restrictions
and Social Distancing Guidelines will be followed and face coverings
must be worn in the church at all times.
Roy’s service will be
