It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Rosetta Hackett nee Cosgrove, at the Jewish General Hospital, on Friday, January 17, 2020, at the age of 79 years, after a short battle against cancer. Beloved wife of Neil Hackett. Predeceased by her son Michael (Kathy). She leaves to mourn her children Kathleen (Markus), Ann, Eileen (Andrew), Kieran (Katie), and Teresa (Bernd), her grandchildren Pavel, Meaghan, Joshua, Kevin, Chelsea, Jack, Michael, Kurt, Erin, Hayden, Felix, Maeve, Mathias, Rory, and Hannah, and one great-grandchild Genya. Her two brothers John (Rita) and James (Nicole) and her two sisters Shirley (late Ken) and Kathleen (Peter), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. ‘Rosetta was a pillar of her community. A tireless volunteer with the local library, Irish Society, and St. Joseph’s Parish, as well as a founding member of the Huntingdon Catholic Women’s League. She was our family matriarch, a teacher, a leader, and a neighbor with an open door. She was kindness, giving, and unconditional love. Her fighting spirit and her love of life will live on in her family forever and always.
