WHITE, Ronald Clarence “Ron” ~ Age 89, of Middleton, Annapolis Co. It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of our dear father and husband, who left us peacefully in his sleep, at home with his wife, Rhoda and loved ones by his side, on Sunday, January 12, 2020. Born on February 23, 1930, in Liverpool, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Clarence and Ethel (Morrison) White. Ronald had been employed in Waste Management for the town of Middleton, retiring in 1990 after 32 years of service. He had also worked as a school bus driver. Ronald was a member of the Middleton & District Lions Club and had served as King Lion. He was a member of Middleton Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, was an honourary life deacon and had sang in the choir. Ronald was an accomplished professional musician, playing in both the “The Flames” as well as the Annapolis East String Band and in various other groups. He also acted as a leader for the Middleton Troup of Boy Scouts and Cubs. Surviving are his wife, of 72 years, the former Rhoda M. Morrison; children. Ronald (Elaine) White, Dartmouth; Lauraine (Steve Jamieson), Kingston; James (Betty Tozer) White, Halifax; Debra (Joseph) Francis, Lower Sackville; Dianne (Gary) Withenshaw, Middle Sackville; Cathy (Brian) Smith, Lower Sackville; Susan (Rex) Edwards, Spryfield; Muriel White, Edmonton, Alta; David (Diannah) White, Wilmot; Nancy (Norman) Godin, West Chezzetcook; Peter White, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Michael, Yvette, Suzanne, Jimmy, Stephanie, Matthew, Ashley, Sarah, Jessica, Christopher, Andrew, Melissa, Maxwell, Quintin, Brett, Breagh, Niklaus and Zackary; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Gert (Georgie) Hill; Florence (Percy) Jackson; Valerie Warrington; brothers, Carter, Thomas “Tom”, Derrick, Darryell and Carl “Binky” Warrington; Jim Brothers; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Judith Ann in infancy; son, Roger Lee in infancy; great granddaughter, Karalynn; brothers, Reginald “Bubs” White; Brian and Freddie Warrington; sister, Vivian Carvery. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 18, in Middleton Baptist Church, 111 Commercial Street, Middleton. Pastor Danny Smith officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Middleton Baptist Church or Carey Me Fund – Supporting Palliative Care in the Home. A special thank you is expressed from Rhoda to everyone who provided comfort and support to Ron when it was needed.
