Roland’s Obituary
Stuart, Roland Leon- 78, Lockeport, passed away peacefully in Roseway Hospital on Monday, January 13, 2020. Born in West Green Harbour he was a son of the late Leonard and Irene ( Scott) Stuart. Roland obtained his Captain’s papers and spent most of his working life at sea, on tugboats, the Bluenose Ferry and St. John Dry dock. He loved to play his guitar and sing. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Estella; daughters, Teresa ( Norman); Sandra and Laura; brother, Moyle (Valerie); ten grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; niece, Holly and nephew, Anthony. Besides his parents he was predeceased by son-in-law, Rick. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium Ltd., Shelburne. A service will take place on Tuesday, January 21 at 2:00 pm in St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Chester. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of choice.
