Obituary of Robert Agnew
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert “Bob” Agnew, who passed away at the age of 73, on Wednesday, January 1st 2020 at his home under the loving care of his family after a long and suffering battle with cancer. He was born September 7th, 1947 in Owen Sound, Ontario; son of Robert Aikman Agnew and Marguerite Nellie Richards.
He is leaving to mourn his spouse Line, two sons, Jared (Erica) and Devon, two step-children Natacha and Marc-André (Isabelle), brother James, sisters Sherrie and Mary Elizabeth, brother and sister in law, nieces and nephews and many friends, as he reunites with his parents who have previously passed.
Bob proudly served the Military for 37 years and continued helping the Military for many years while achieving several awards, medals and certificates. He loved spending time with his family, dog Rosco, read all sorts of books, create art, watch hockey games, and appreciated good comfort food. He was an exceptional spouse, father and step-father and held dear to his heart the long conversations he had with them. He had a heart of gold.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Rita for the caregiving she kindly provided, the Ottawa General Hospital for their service following many visits, the paramedics for their continuing efforts, the Ottawa Police, First Response and firefighters for their prompt responses, understanding and respect.
Relatives and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, Ottawa, on January 18th, 2020 from 3:30 pm to 4 pm. A funeral service in the honour of Robert Agnew will follow in the Heritage Chapel at 4 pm.
