We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Rita Mary MacDonald (nee Beson) at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully in her own home in Corner Brook, NL.
Rita is remembered lovingly by her seven children, Terry (Denise), Maureen, Dianne, Mario (Patricia), Dean, Cory, and Corrine along with ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and her sister Marie Avery currently residing in Vancouver, BC.
Rita enjoyed her hobbies of sewing crafts with Newfoundland tartan. She loved crossword puzzles, reading newspapers and mystery novels, and games of cards and scrabble. Rita also enjoyed Sunday drives in the car during summer months.
Family would like to extend appreciation to the staff of Compassion homecare for providing loving care to our mother over the years. Mother was also well cared for by her family doctor, Dr. Perry Osborne and staff, as well as the dedicated staff of Lawton’s pharmacy. You are invited to share memories of Rita, or expressions of condolence, on Russell’s Funeral Home (Stephenville) website.
As per mother’s wishes no funeral service will take place. Donations in mom’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
