Rita Elizabeth Mullaly
Born proud of her Irish roots in Northern Bay, Newfoundland.
With an unwavering faith in God, Rita passed away of at the age of 88 on May 7, 2020. At which time she was a resident within the caring and loving community of the Westlock Continuing Care Centre.
Rita’s life heroes were undoubtably her parents. They raised her to have faith, be hardworking, responsible, proud and independent.
Rita earned a Teaching License in 1950. Her teaching career brought her from the east coast to the west coast of Newfoundland where she married Myron White. With a strong faith and enduring spirit, she bore 11 children, raised a large family, instilling values of balance, faith, family, work, education, community and playfulness. Her tenacity was outstanding and returned great rewards.
One of Rita’s life’s pleasures was gathering apples and baking pies for everyone on her “pie list” she also enjoyed picking berries, knitting socks and mittens, quilting, music, dancing, camping in the great outdoors and traveling. She was quick and capable to prepare a feast for the crowd. She was frugal and kind to the environment. She was the queen of garage sales, enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir. She had an excellent sense of humor and loved to laugh. She contributed time and money to any worthy cause.
Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children and celebrating their uniqueness and successes.
There will be a church funeral and farewell for immediate family in Westlock, Ab. Rita’s wishes are to be buried with her parents and family in Northern Bay, Nl. The family will grant this wish in the summer of 2021

Grandchildren; Elijah, Daniel, Dion, Dean, Brittney, Stae-cee, Shaelyn, Rylee, Sianna, Jillian, Curtis, Alison, Kirsten, Heather, Daryl, Sabrina, Trevor and Andy. Great-grandchildren; Finn, Drake, Kolton, Tyla, Gracie-Lynn, Cohen, Hudson, Isabella and Brook. Sister; Winnie White, Special Niece; Pauline Doyle.
