It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandma Rita Desrochers at the age of 90, at the Englehart District Hospital on Wednesday Friday 12th, 2020.
Rita was pre deceased by her parents Thomas and Edith Brennan, her loving husband of 71 years Fern, their infant son James and sons Robert (Bobby) and Gerald (Jerry); and her sister Margaret.
She is survived by her loving daughters Kathleen (Robert Morrison) and Patricia (James «Jim» Bodick). Her cherished Grandchildren Joseph, Angelina (Stephan), Kimberly (Zac), Jennifer and Christopher; her much loved Great Grandsons Logan and Tyler and her faithful companion Boston.
She enjoyed being a member of the Interlink Chorus for many years, and was a member of the Associate Sisters. Rita was a proud member of the CWL for over 40 years holding many titles including President and was a recipient of the Bellelle Guerin Award. She also served at the Diocesan Level for over 20 years and was President from 1993-1995. Rita was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary. In 2000, she received the Senior of the Year Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Township of Chamberlain.
She enjoyed the outdoors, her farm animals and her garden and nature in general. Rita enjoyed curling and looked forward every Saturday to her TV Bingo. Rita loved when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren visited.
The Family invites friends of the late Mrs. Rita Desrochers to the McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart on Sunday February 16th, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday February 17th, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Holy Trinity Parish or the Catholic Womens’ League of the Holy Trinity Parish will be greatly appreciated. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.mcdonaldfuneralhome.ca
