Wark, Reta Elizabeth (nee Kemp)
It is with great sadness, that we the family of Reta Wark announce her passing. Reta went to heaven on Sunday December 20, 2020 at 2:10 p.m. surrounded by family at home.
Reta was born on October 25, 1929, the eldest daughter of the late Joe and Annie Kemp (nee Enault). On Oct 29, 1949, she married the great love of her life, Ivan Wark, who predeceased her 25 years ago. Reta was the loved and respected mother of 8 children, Elaine (Ronnie), Diane, Sharon, Donna Marie, Kevin (June), Barry (Arlene), Brent (Tracey) and predeceased by her infant son Jackie (1959 to 1960). Reta will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Lisa (Chris) Jones, Lori Houston, Richard Gleeson, Douglas (Erin) Cowpland, Jamie (Jessica) Cowpland, Daniel Wark, Terry-Ann (Brian) Hutchinson, Shane (Kelly) Wark, Brayden Wark, Travis Wark, Ryan Wark and Tiffany Murray (Ashley Sommerville). She was great-grandmother to 26 and great-great-grandmother of 3. Also left to mourn her is her sister-in-law Sylvia (late Earl) Kemp of Regina, Saskatchewan. Reta was also predeceased by her sisters and their spouses, Irene (Bill) Donaldson, Doreen (Walter) More, June (Tom) Steele and Helen (Ed) Lunn. Reta was also predeceased by Ivan’s siblings and their spouses. Reta will be sadly missed by all her nieces and nephews.
Reta will be lovingly remembered and countless stories will be shared and reflected on with laughter and love for years to come.
Her death did not come without a wish that there had been more time to make more memories.
The family would like to thank Stacey Munro (R.N.) of Bayshore Home Care Solutions and Dr. M. Rossi for their excellent care. Special thank you as well to Reverend Rob Selby.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place.
At Reta’s request, there will be no visitation. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
For those who wish, a donation to St. Peter’s United Church, Tatlock or Guthrie United Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
