On Wednesday November 11, 2020, after a 10-month battle with aggressive cancer, Randy Duane Berge passed away with his family by his side, in his home where he lived his 65 years.
Randy was born in Prince Albert, SK on December 17, 1954 to Gust and Thelma Berge. He attended his first 7 years of school at Hagen Harmony School and then continued his following school years at Birch Hills School. After graduating, Randy had numerous jobs including dry walling, custom grain hauling with his brother Gary, and his main career of farming. Randy retired from farming in 2017 to devote his time to the necessities – his cabin, his cars, and his man-cave. Randy is known for his love of specialty vehicles; His pride and joy being his ’69 Camaro that he owned for 48 years.
Randy married the love of his life Sandra in 2004, becoming a husband, a step dad, and eventually a very proud grandpa, all in one day. Together, Randy and Sandra were lucky enough to fill their time with their grandchildren, their cabin at the lake, and travelling together to favourite hot destinations.
Family was important to Randy. From younger years weekends all spent water skiing and fishing with his brothers and many friends, to time spent with his sisters Gail and Wanda, to working closely for many years with his brother Gary, to Randy always looking forward in anticipation to his yearly long-haul bike trips with his brother Kim. In the summer, Randy found joy spending the days at the cabin with Sandra and many great neighbours and friends. In the winter, he enjoyed taking hot holidays with Sandra and friends, and hearing about the frigid prairie temperatures while he relaxed on a beach lounger. A favourite moment he cherished was a trip taken to the Dominican with his step-kids and grandkids. Many memories made for us to keep close.
Randy is lovingly remembered by his wife of 16 years: Sandra; His step-son: Leigh (Tamara); step-daughter: Launa (Adam) and grandchildren Lachlan, Rowan, and Avery; His siblings: Gary (Shirley), Gail, Wanda (Ernie), and Kim; His sister-in-law: Sharon (Gary); His brothers-in-law: Reg (Tanis), and Richard; His mother-in-law Eunice Evans; As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many great friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Gust and Thelma Berge; His parents-in-law Orville and Madeleine Quaale; His father-in-law Willard Evans; His brother-in-law Glen; And his grand-daughter Addison.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private celebration of life will be held. Friends and family so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Birch Hills Community Church. Box 827, Birch Hills, SK, S0J 0G0
