Quinn, Clara Helen ‘Alinê’ (née Chatelâin)
October 31st, 2020
Surrounded by her family, Alinê Quinn, of London, Ontario, formerly a longtime resident of Lucan, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the age of 89. Alinê was born June 4, 1931 in Montreal to parents Henri and Gracia Chatelâin. Predeceased by her sister, Lilly; brother, Gerard; daughter, Christine; and granddaughter, Joanna. Alinê will be forever loved and treasured by John, her husband of 67 years. She is survived by her children: Maureen Mouritzen (Chris), Patrick Quinn (Xandra), Frank Quinn (Maureen), Denise Horrocks (Sam), and Greg Quinn (Debbie). Alinê was very proud of her family and cherished by her grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Tish, Spiro, Karrie, Jessica, Jonathan, Christian, Micheal, and Katie; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Colin and Nora. Her grandchildren describe their grandmother as the warmest and biggest hearted of souls. « She touched all of our hearts with her enduring love, compassion and affection. We will miss her warm smile and laughter.” In earlier days, she loved to knit, making fair isle sweaters, blankets and cosy slippers for her family. When she wasn’t knitting, she enjoyed reading a good mystery novel, working on crossword puzzles, or playing scrabble or cards. Grandma was a fabulous home cook. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, we were very fortunate to share many of her French Canadian dishes, especially her Pâté Chinois and Tourtière pie at Christmas time. Grandma will be fondly remembered by the song she sang to us: “Que Sera, Sera”. We adored her and she will be profoundly missed. She left an indelible mark on all of us and will be forever in our hearts.
Jusqu’à ce que nous nous revoyions!
