Obituary
PHYLLIS MAY SLOVACK, of Lethbridge beloved wife of the late Matt Slovack, passed away at the Innisfail Health Centre on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the age of 95 ½ years.
She is the loving mother of: Donna Wheatcroft of Calgary, Linda and Garth Seely (both deceased), David and Colleen Slovack of Lethbridge, Ken Slovack of Oliver, BC, Joan and Dan Metzger of Red Deer, and baby daughter – Rita (deceased). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by a sister, Audrey Kesler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving husband Matthew Slovack, Phyllis is predeceased by grandson Jason Slovack, granddaughter Joanne Watmough, baby daughter, brothers George Bissett and Alvin Bissett and parents Aubrey and May Bissett.
Phyllis was born on May 12, 1925 in Raymond, Alberta, to Aubrey and May Bissett. She was the owner of Beehive Crafts and was a Charter Member of the Canadian Craft and Hobby Association. At the Lethbridge Whoop-up Days, Phyllis was a homecraft judge for many years. In addition, she was a teacher at the Dorothy Gooder School. She very much enjoyed her role as a Little League mother.
A private family service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. at 1:00 PM. Please find the link below that will appear at 12:45 PM for live-streaming of the service. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery will follow.
