KOWERCHUK, PHYLLIS PEARL
October 27, 1936 – April 30, 2020
Phyllis passed away in her new home, the Neepawa Personal Care Home, (Country Meadows), moving there from Winnipeg on January 17, 2020. Phyllis left Alonsa at 14 years old to begin her life, working first at the Portage La Prairie Hospital, then on to Winnipeg where she was employed at St. Amant for many years, then the next 25 years at Monarch Industries. She had many friends, enjoyed bingo and going to the casino with friends to the U.S. During her short stay at Country Meadows she made new friends and staff say she would tell many stories. She was well liked. Unfortunately, her weak heart gave out.
On behalf of my sister, I would like to thank Dr. Cram and hospital staff for your kindness and care. To Caitlin, Michelle and Alicia and the rest of the staff at Country Meadows, thank you. Monique, thanks for all your help.
To honor Phyllis’s wishes there will be no funeral. Her ashes will rest with our father in Portage La Prairie cemetery when time permits. Cal and I, Nettie Williams, sister – will miss her dearly.
