It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Clifford Colley announce his passing on December 18th, 2020 at the age of 84. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Steve (Linda), Nick (Susan) and his four grandchildren Tyler, Tia, Maddy and Charlotte. Peter was predeceased by his wife Yvonne (2000).
Born in Macclesfield, England, he gained an apprenticeship as an auto mechanic, he then served for two years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, worked as a motorcycle and auto mechanic, then joined the family business – Colley Motors – where he worked for 9 years before emigrating to Canada in 1977 with his family. He settled in Windsor where he first worked for a British and European car dealer for three years, before moving on to a long career with the City of Windsor up until his retirement in 2001.
To anyone who knew him well, he will be fondly remembered for his antics, jokes, naughtiness and flat out hilarity that always accompanied his presence. You could count on him being in one of two places at any given time – either on the golf course or in his garage, where he spent many hours tinkering away at whatever was in there at the time.
Memorial donations in memory of Peter can be made to Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Es County.
A celebration of his life will be held at a future date once larger gatherings are permitted.
