Obituary of Olive Cavell Payne
March 31, 1926- February 16, 2020
Today, we celebrate the amazing life of a great woman, Olive Payne as we announce her passing on Sunday, February 16th at Western Memorial Hospital just before her 94th birthday. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Elizabeth (Charlie), Clarence (Neila), Dan (Jean), Cliff, Cavell, Allen (Donna), Owen (Donna), Wade, Angus (Joanne), Margaret (James) and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister in-laws Harriet, Beulah, and Susie, cousins Alex McLean and Barbara Long and a large number of nieces and nephews and other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilson; daughter Florence, sons Donald, Roderick, Eldon, and Coyley, parents Daniel and Florence McLean, brothers Sandy, Jack, Allen, and Jim MacLean, daughter in-laws Juanita and Margaret.
Special thanks to her home-care workers Angela Bennett and Miranda Hann. The celebration of her life visitations will take place at St. Simon & St. Jude Anglican Church in Trout River on Tuesday, February 18th at 7-9 p.m and Wednesday at 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. and her funeral service will take place on February 20th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Deacon Francis Edgar officiating the interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Trout River. A special thank you to the Western Memorial Staff for your kindness and compassion shown to Olive. As expression of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the St. Simon & St. Jude Memorial Fund or charity if your choice.
