DELORME, Melvin
On December 21, 2020 from his residence at Sherbrooke Community Centre, Melvin Delorme departed his earthly home and was lovingly welcomed by the Creator into his heavenly home. Lovingly remembered and forever grateful for his love are his wife Laura, son Chris Delorme (Cindy) Matthew, Kyle, son Rick Delorme, daughter Kathy (Tom) Ketterer, Lucas, Laura, sisters Killeen Delorme (Vancouver), Shelly Jordan (Edmonton) and brother Joe Delorme (Edmonton). He was predeceased by his mother and father, Leo and Clara Delorme, sisters Marlene Dogniez and Mary Tribe and brother in law Ronald Tribe, brother Harvey Delorme, brother in law Mel Olauson, mother and father in law, Armand and Helen Nogier and Sewall Olauson. Mel was employed by Intercontinental Packers until it became Mitchell’s Gourmet Foods. Upon his retirement Mel indulged in his passion for golfing, bowling and spoiling his four grandchildren. Mel was a dedicated family man who delighted in being with his grandchildren. Camping trips, picnics and Sunday family dinners were the happiest times for Mel. His diagnosis of myelo dysplastic syndrome did not slow Mel down. He continued to brighten everyone’s day and always said that he felt “good”. Chemotherapy and frequent hospitalizations only made him more determined to enjoy every moment of his life. Mel fought this battle with courage, determination and love until the Creator saw that he was tiring and ready to return home. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the people who helped care for Mel over the past few years. Special thanks to the nurses of the palliative care team, homecare services, St. Paul’s Hospital palliative care unit, Prairie Hospice and the wonderful caregivers at Sherbrooke Community Centre.
