MASON CARTER SCHRADER
Mason Carter Schrader, aged 19, passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital surrounded by his family and closest friends at his bedside. Mason was born in North Battleford and grew up in Saskatoon. Mason was born autistic and it was later discovered he had a rare genetic disorder called MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. Mason attended various schools, but found his home at John Dolan with his amazing teachers and staff who said he was the happiest boy, made everyone smile, loved by so many, and got away with a lot because of his kind soul and gorgeous eyes. Mason loved music and would always be rocking back and forth in his chair to the music. He loved camping with his family and going to his Rider games. Mason was an amazing big brother to Asher. Up until Mason got sick, a day never went by that they didn’t dance to their favorite songs or play cars or just sit together and watch TV, their bond was inseparable. Mason would brighten your mood just by walking into a room, his love was immeasurable. Mason had his ups and downs these past couple years, but he never stopped fighting his MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. Mason fought as hard as he could, but he is now at peace. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him, he touched so many people in his own unique way. We are so thankful for all the support we have received from family and friends throughout Mason’s journey. Memorial donations can be made to the Saskatoon Public School Board, care of John Dolan School. A Celebration of Mason’s Life will be held at 11:00 on Sunday January 26, 2020, at Acadia McKague Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon).
