Marybeth Ethier
On Tuesday, November 17th 2020,
Marybeth Ethier earned her promotionand sprouted wings.
Marybeth was the daughter of the late Beth and Bernie
MacQueen and daughter-in-law of Nicole and Laurier
Ethier. Missing her are her husband Marc, daughters
Rébécca (Jason) and Charla (Jesse),
grandson Charlie, siblings Brenda Yhard (John), Linda
Fortier (Bob), Cyril MacQueen (Rita), Susan Rice (Lindsay),
sister-in-law Kim MacQueen, brother in law Charles Ethier,
nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, the following
people beat her to the pearly gates, her brother Wayne
MacQueen, brother in law Gaetan Ethier, beloved dog Moe and
many of her dear homecare patients.
Mom was born in Sydney, NS on March
25th 1964. Later, she travelled to the big city of Ottawa and
met our father Marc, the love of her life. They were engaged
within 13 days of their first date and married in 1987. We
made our home in Hampton, NB for 26 years. She earned
her license at 30 years old, visited Disney at 40 and
followed us to many recreational activities. She worked as a
Tim Horton’s employee, an artisan and as a homecare
worker. She was kind and supportive and often became an
adopted family member of her homecare patients.
Please know Mom was not a saint. Here
are some of her sins- encouraging our father’s karaoke
career, liking cinnamon, loving the poker boys, shaking
wrapped gifts and knowing what was inside every time, getting
sun burnt, raising »fluffy » dogs, having a birthday week,
crying halfway through a new movie only to realize she had
already seen it and laughing so hard she…
Mom was helpful, funny, hardworking
and a great listener. She loved her family, friends and pets.
She enjoyed dancing with Dad, sitting in the sun, walking
with her dog, long country drives, family or
romantic vacations, gardening and a cuppa tea in good
company. Put simply, she was and will always be our
sunshine.
We thank Dr J Cormier, Dr Marrero,
their staff and the nurses at the Moncton City Hospital in
unit 4600 and the palliative care unit for taking care of
Mom. Special thanks to Mom’s side of the family for helping
us keep her comfortable at home for as long as
possible.
Due to the Moncton
region being put back into the Orange Phase of COVID-19 Restrictions
in New Brunswick, visitation hours and funeral service are cancelled,
and further arrangements will be announced at a later
date.
In lieu of flowers, please give a
donation to Friends of the Moncton Hospital
Foundation (direct funds towards Prion research » 135
